Barça’s LaLiga Genuine team welcomed by Barca Femeni

During the half-time between Barça and Betis, the players of this team, accompanied by their coaches and psychologists, appeared in front of the crowd of the Johan Cruyff stadion and danced the haka, a typical ceremonial war dance in Māori culture.

First there was the solemnity of the Camp Nou, in the official presentation of the season, then the magic of the Basketbal Palau and today it was the Johan Cruyff stadium’s turn to welcome the players of the Barça Foundation, who are about to play the second Phase of LaLiga Genuine.

It was during the half of Barça – Betis, corresponding to the eighteenth day of the first women’s division: the squad and the coaching staff of this football team, made up of people with intellectual disabilities, have appeared on the pitch and greeted the 4,898 spectators, who responded with a loud ovation. Then, they danced the famous haka and the connection with the stands became even greater. Aitana Bonmatí particularly enjoyed the Barça Foundation’s visit to Johan Cruyff, who did not miss the opportunity to greet the players of this team, of which she is the ambassador.

Next February 18 and 19, the Barça Foundation will play the second phase of LaLiga Genuine at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque in Sant Adrià de Besós. The Blaugrana, current champions of the ‘Compañerismo’ group of this competition, now play in the ‘Deportividad’ group.
