CSR teams of Feyenoord Rotterdam & Drogheda United meet in Rotterdam

The CSR team of EFDN member Feyenoord Rotterdam hosted this week a delegation of Irish club and network member Drogheda United. The clubs met each other at the last European Football for Development Network Conference in Liverpool and came up with the idea to organise an exchange between their CSR departments.

The main objective was to exchange knowledge on similar projects. They also looked at the opportunities for their projects and future projects. They are all very happy with the results of this first exchange.

“Thank you so much Feyenoord for your hospitality and the warmth of your staff this week on our visit.”(…) “Drogheda United Business Diploma students David Whearity and Luke Murphy completed an element of their course. Work experience at the club, connections made and the overall collaboration have been priceless! We can’t wait for another opportunity like this next year!”

Dani Maletic, course/programme coordinator at Drogheda United

“Over the past week we were entertained and educated about the community and this wonderful club that is Feyenoord”.(…) “Our goal was to see how a club works within the community and on a professional level. We participated in different activities and events with our time here. Comparing our clubs gives us ideas for improvements in our club Drogheda United. We enjoyed our stay and time in Rotterdam. Thanks to Feyenoord and most importantly Dion Pol, Patrick Pronk and Carla Lagendijk for the opportunity.”

Luke Murphy, FAI Qualified Football coach/GK Coach

The Football clubs did a learning exchange with work experience for their DUFC Diploma students, which has been priceless. They’ll soon be graduating, however, the knowledge, insights & memories gained will last for a lifetime.

We’re beyond grateful and hopefully this is just the beginning of our collaboration!
