EFDN welcomes City in the Community to the Network!

EFDN is happy to announce City in the Community, Manchester City’s charity, as new member. Founded in 1986, the Treble winners’ charity supports people across Greater Manchester by empowering healthier lives through football. Programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.

By becoming an EFDN member, the Charity hopes to build relationships with likeminded colleagues across Club Community Organisations within the Network by sharing and learning of each other’s best practices. They will provide precious insights into how City Football Group’s CSR approach works balancing local versus global impact.

City’s Pillars

Each of charity’s 18 programmes sit under one outcome-led pillar:

HEALTHY PEOPLE: Nurturing healthy people by putting physical activity and mental well-being at the centre of the charity’s programmes.

HEALTHY FUTURES: Building healthy futures through education and employability pathways.

HEALTHY COMMUNITIES: Connecting people by creating healthy communities in safe, inclusive environments.

The charity achieves tangible, meaningful impact through regular, sustained and high-quality contact time between the staff and the participants they engage with.

Hubert Rovers, CEO of EFDN: “It’s an honour to welcome City in the Community, charity of Manchester City FC to the Network! They make an impact on people’s daily lives in the Great Manchester area but also on a global level through City Football’s Group CSR approach. We were very pleased that they have presented their strategy at our last conference in Athens where they shared insights on how the Charity empowers healthier lives and communities. I’m sure that the valuable programmes delivered by City in the Community are a wonderful addition to the Network’s activities. We can benefit from each other’s experiences to create even more impact in our Network.”
