Fans descend by bike to the Brugse Metten!

Club Brugge Foundation and Club Brugge joined forces to get as many fans as possible to the stadium by bike on Saturday 22 July during Club Brugge’s Brugse Metten and Season Kick-Off.

More than 15% of fans responded positively to this and placed their bikes in one of the provided bike racks.

FCBIKE

FCBike was created by Club Brugge Foundation. The aim is to allow as many fans as possible to descend by bike to the Jan Breydel Stadium at home matches not only at the Bruges Metten but also in the future.

Extra bicycle racks were placed for the occasion so that there was certainly enough space for every bicycle. In addition, each cyclist received an exclusive FCBike cycling badge.

PARK & RIDES

Fans who do not live within cycling distance of the stadium were also encouraged to come by bike. Thus, 4 P&Rs were presented, each with the best cycling route to the stadium.

“We had thought about trying this before, but it just didn’t happen. Thanks to the P&Rs and routes suggested by Club Brugge, it was made very easy for us. In just under 20 minutes, we were at the stadium from our car. Soon, a traffic jam-free return also awaits us. We will definitely do it again!”

Cycling Attractions

Before and after the Bruges Metten, Club Brugge also organised the annual Season Kick-Off. A fun party with performances, a kids’ village, signing sessions and fun attractions.

During these festivities, 2 fun bike rides were also set up where fans could put their cycling skills to the test.
