FC Barcelona Foundation has launched a new campaign to raise awareness of its work

With the support of men’s and women’s footballers from the Club, the FC Barcelona Foundation has launched a new campaign to raise awareness of its work. The campaign will be spread during the month of January and focuses on Barça’s social commitment through its Foundation.

The players of the men’s first team, Ilkay Gündogan, Jules Koundé, Fermín López and Oriol Romeu and the players of the women’s first team, Alexia Putellas, Irene Paredes, Lucy Bronze and Caroline Graham Hansen are the promoters of the new campaign launched by the FC Barcelona Foundation to raise awareness of their work among members, partners, fans, and society in general.

The campaign aims to support the positioning of the Foundation as a reference of Barça’s social commitment in favour of the most vulnerable children and young people in Catalonia and in 16 countries around the world, under the slogan “Beyond sport with the Barça Foundation”, with a commitment that makes real the “More than a Club” which defines FC Barcelona’s DNA.

The messages from the six players emphasise this commitment to go beyond sport and explain the Foundation’s main activities, namely supporting children with diseases, preventing violence in schools, helping young people at social risk find work and supporting refugees. All these actions come to fruition via projects in different countries across the world using FC Barcelona Foundation’s SportNet socio-educational methodology as a tool.

This campaign is further evidence of the strong commitment and involvement from the players in the Club’s professional teams to the organisation’s different programmes and partnerships both in Catalonia and worldwide. Players and coaches from the professional teams give 0.5% of their annual salaries to fund social and charity projects, in addition to the Club allocating 0.7% of its annual income.
