The Sport Transparancy Index Project

The Sport Transparency Index project (Sport T-Index), is a vital initiative aimed at enhancing integrity within the sports community. This project is geared towards evaluating and supporting integrity efforts on a fundamental level by using standardized criteria to assess various sports entities like clubs, leagues, national associations, and international governing bodies.

The Sport Transparency Index project involves collaboration with 11 delivery partners, representing leading organizations from countries like Portugal, Spain, Greece, Poland, Belgium, Austria, and the Netherlands. Noteworthy participants include SIGA – Sport Integrity Global Alliance Europe Associação, ISG – Fundacja Institute For Sport Governance, VUB- Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and others. Additionally, four associate partners, such as Igre mladih, IPDJ, AEFCA, and FSA, contribute to this pan-European endeavor.

Funded by Erasmus+, this project is a pivotal step towards safeguarding the integrity of sports at its core. By shedding light on areas needing more transparency, quantifying norms across different levels of sport, and acknowledging those committed to maintaining integrity, the project aims to drive positive change. Its goals include establishing common integrity indicators for all European sports stakeholders, constructing a Transparency Index for objective assessments, and promoting improved standards through education and policy recommendations.

In essence, the Sport Transparency Index project strives to fortify the sports community from the ground up, realizing cooperation and shared knowledge across various sports and regions while championing integrity at every level.
