Foundation 92 Awarded Three-Year Grant to Support Vulnerable Youth in Manchester

Foundation 92 is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a three-year grant from BBC Children in Need. The grant will provide essential funding for a full-time mentor to support up to 20 young people aged 12-18, who are at risk of engaging in crime within Manchester.

The BBC Children in Need grant will contribute towards creating life chances, fostering aspiration, and improving self-worth. The full-time mentor will guide these young individuals, teaching them the skills needed to thrive in the community, and helping them navigate the appropriate support systems.

“We are immensely grateful for this grant from BBC Children in Need. It will provide us with the resources to create a real and positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people in our community. We are confident that with this support, we can help guide these individuals away from a potential life of crime and towards a positive and prosperous future.”

Tom Hutton, Head of Foundation 92

The mentorship programme aims to build a trusting relationship with each young person, serving as a reliable, supportive friend in their lives. Foundation 92’s core mission is to inspire the youth of Manchester to positively engage within their communities and use their potential to create lasting change.

“It’s always a real privilege to award grants to organisations like Foundation 92 who deliver youth mentoring support in Manchester and Salford. It demonstrates how our grants programme makes a positive difference to children and young people’s lives.”

Emily Swords, Head of North, BBC Children in Need

Foundation 92 is steadfast in its commitment to the youth of Manchester, offering support, guidance, and opportunities for a brighter future.
