LASK’s world record attempt for a good cause at the match against Salzburg

LASK will kick off the spring season with the quarter-finals of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup against RB Salzburg on Friday, 2nd of February 2024. Tickets for the Schlager in the Raiffeisen Arena are available now. Around 20 minutes before kick-off, LASK and the stadium visitors will start a world record attempt in simultaneous resuscitation training.

In order to raise awareness of resuscitation and highlight the importance of first aid, the club has launched this initiative in cooperation with the partners Province of Upper Austria, Sportunion and the association Hand aufs Herz.

The current world record for simultaneous resuscitation, set in Münster, Germany, is 12,000 people. The aim is to surpass this mark in the run-up to the Cup match against RB Salzburg and enter the Guinness Book of Records. For this purpose, each spectator receives a small foam heart and an information folder in advance. The action starts around 20 minutes before kick-off and will take about ten minutes to complete, with the duration of resuscitation being two minutes.

“With this world record attempt, we would like to draw attention to an eminently important topic. We all have a responsibility to provide first aid. With this initiative, we want to help raise awareness and point out that quick action is needed in an emergency to help people and even save lives.”

Dr. Siegmund Gruber, CEO

“It’s great that LASK is taking on such an important issue. Health is above all else and soccer has the power to make a major contribution here and raise awareness. Of course, we expressly support this initiative, which highlights the enormous importance of first aid, and hope that as many fans as possible will take part in this unique campaign and that it will have a lasting effect.”

Klaus Mitterdorfer, ÖFB President
