LEE BURGE NAMED CLUB’S ‘HER GAME TOO’ PLAYER ADVOCATE

The goalkeeper of Northampton Town F.C. adds support to Her Game Too campaign.

Her Game Too is a voluntary campaign led by a team of dedicated female football fans who are passionate about creating a positive change in football and the wider sporting world. They aim to raise awareness and educate others on the importance of inclusivity and diversity in sports. The pursued goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their background, ability, or gender. An equal opportunity to participate in sports and have access to the same resources and opportunities is what they strive for.

Goalkeeper Lee Burge has become the Northampton Town Player Advocate for the Her Game Too initiative

Lee has joined a number of Player Advocates from clubs up and down the United Kingdom to help promote and support the Her Game Too aims and objectives within football.

“I am very proud and honoured to be the Northampton Town Her Game Too Player Advocate.”

Lee Burge

“Her Game Too is a very important campaign that the club fully supports and if I can add my name to help that support grow, it is a very worthwhile thing to do. The campaign is growing quickly and I believe it is important to have player advocates to show that as players we fully support the aims and intentions of the campaign,” Lee added.

“We are delighted to have Lee on board supporting the campaign.”

Heidi Green, the Northampton Town Her Game Too ambassador

“I know the club work very hard to make Sixfields a welcoming place for all supporters and that work, along with the huge progress of the club’s female football programme in recent years shows how far things have moved forward, but there is still a lot to be achieved across the game. Having players like Lee on board can only help,” says Lee.

At Her Game Too, they not only want to raise awareness, but also offer education to promote a safe and inclusive sporting culture. The team is committed to driving positive change and making a real difference in the world of sports.
