Legia Warsaw donates school supplies to children in need

‘Back2School’ is an action of the Legia Foundation (Fundacja Legii) dedicated to children in need. The aim of the project is to collect school supplies and provide them to families who don’t have the resources to buy them themselves. With the new school materials, the young pupils can fully concentrate on their educational goals in the school year 2018/2019.

School equipment is a real challenge for a lot of families in Poland. The list of necessary school supplies is very long and the total cost can be very high. For the second time, the Legia Foundation has collected a wide variety of school supplies and handed over the materials which are needed for active participation in everyday class activities. This year, 72 pupils from the Powiśle Social Foundation and the Heart Association for Children aged 7 to 15 received the support packages.

Pens, food boxes and clothing

The pupils received the necessary school supplies such as notebooks, blocks, pens, crayons, paints, pencils, geometric accessories, sharpeners, food boxes, a water bottle and a new backpack. Next, to the school materials, the packages also included a selection of shoes, T-shirts, tracksuits, trousers, warm autumn sweatshirts, raincoats and underwear.

The support packages were put together on the basis of a list of the most needed articles, created by the educators of the school institutions. Most materials in the packages were full of Legia articles which made the children very happy.
