‘Mainz 05 hilft e.V.’ distributed more than 160,000 Euro

Mainz 05 hilft e.V. presented an impressive balance sheet for the financial year 2019 and the period until the end of September 2020 at its general meeting on Wednesday evening. In the period mentioned, the charitable association distributed a total of 169,368.31 to people in need and charitable aid projects in Mainz and the surrounding area.

“The team of Mainz 05 hilft e.V. has once again done a great job in the past fiscal year of our charitable association for people in need and those seeking help from our midst. Even though Corona has confronted us all with unexpected challenges, Mainz 05 hilft e.V. has been able to make a big difference and support people who have fallen into need through no fault of their own, even during the pandemic, as well as finance charitable projects that would otherwise have received no support. I take my hat off to the tireless efforts of our volunteer function team and thank them as well as all friends and partners of our charitable organization for their commitment,” says Stefan Hofmann, Chairman of the Association and Chairman of the Board of Mainz 05 hilft e.V.

Stefanie Reuter, managing director of Mainz 05 hilft e.V., and some members of the function team spoke at the meeting in front of 30 members, which took place digitally due to Corona, about initiatives such as the support of the inclusive association “Integratives Förderzentrum Mensch und Pferd in Sport und Therapie Rhein-Main e.V.”, the help for the homeless “Wohnsitzlos in Mainz e.V.” or the integrative club FC Ente Bagdad. Furthermore, various events such as the Mainz CV or the charitable mulled wine bar at the Mainz Christmas market in December 2019 were presented.

Possible changes triggered by Corona in the execution of the ‘Match of Hearts’ were in the focus of the outlook for the upcoming activities for the rest of 2020. As it is not yet clear in which form spectators will be admitted to the OPEL ARENA for the home match of the 1. FSV Mainz 05 against SV Werder Bremen (December 18 to 20, not yet scheduled), the 14th edition of the charity event will be adapted to possible restrictions due to the pandemic.
