Milestone for Strømsgodset IF

The community department of Strømsgodset IF keeps up the pressure. So far this year, the Blåtimen programme has reached 4,500 children and young people in the district. But there is also activity in several arenas in the SIF community.

Last week the club started NAV course number 10 in a row. The collaborative project “Be seen – real love” is an offer for young people between the ages of 18 and 30 – with no connection to working life and who need help to get into work. This is a low-threshold offer with no requirement for special expertise or background.

Through the collaboration with NAV, the club wants to give young, unemployed people better opportunities to get back into work. One of Strømsgodset’s sustainability targets is target number 10 – equal opportunities.

In the first week of this course, they had various features. Marketing manager Rune Marthinsen has told about the club’s proud history. Sales manager Selim has told about the way in which companies work and physiotherapist Simen Rygh has told about physical health. Otherwise, much of the time is spent making plans for the participants to get them to work. All departments in the club contribute and this week the A-team coaches, general manager and chairman of the board have given presentations to the course participants.

The community department has also held a lecture for 150 employees in community services in Drammen municipality. Lars-Petter Eggen and Rolf Jensen had 45 minutes to tell a little about what they do in the community department. The boys talked a lot about the Gate team, Blåtimen, Gåfotballen and the NAV course programmes.

Furthermore, the Walking football is in full swing and more and more people are taking part in this offer in Talentgården. Last week they were up to 20 seniors – 18 guys and 2 ladies. For many, this was their first encounter with walking football, but it will not be the last time, according to the feedback from many of them. It is very pleasing to see the positive development and the interest indicates that this offer is here to stay. It is Rolf Jensen from SIF community and former SIF legend Odd Arild Amundsen who is at the head of Walking Football.
