Omonia FC Honours 6 PAOK Fans Who Died 21 Years Ago
Yesterday, Omonia FC paid hommage to the six PAOK Thessaloniki fans who tragically lost their lives on October 4, 1999.
In a tweet yesterday, the Cypriot club showed their solidarity for their friends at PAOK on the 21st anniversary of the tragedy at Tempi. On October 4, 1999, six PAOK fans – Charalambos, Dimitrios, Christina, Anastasios, Georgios, Kyriakos and Asterios – were returning to Thessaloniki from Athens after a league game against PAO Panathinaikos.
A very powerful message of support and compassion from Omonoia FC – this was a strong way to solidify the friendship between the two clubs and their partnerships with EFDN. It is great to see clubs coming together for what matters most, because the beautiful game is #Morethanfootball.
