Rangers Charity Foundation: Annual Review 2022/23

Rangers Charity Foundation has just unveiled their new Annual Review for their 20th anniversary season, and it’s full of great news about the work they do, key facts and figures and examples of the amazing impact the Foundation has had on their community and the wider world.

The Rangers Charity Foundation were able to champion and assist a range of local, national and international charity partners, including: Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity; Glasgow City Mission; Bowel Cancer UK, UNICEF UK as well as a range of armed forces charities.

During the year, their work in the community which now spans over 20 programmes, reached over 10,500 people; more than ever before. Including their CashBack for Communities – Towards New Futures project which secured expanded funding from Scottish Government for a further three years.

An extensive suite of employability programmes for young people was delivered throughout the year, with their dedicated staff working hard to support deliver SQA Awards and support routes into positive destinations.

The Foundation’s SQA Programme of Wider Achievement which sees pupils come to Ibrox for one day a week for the school term to learn in a different environment was expanded to 10 schools and continues to grow thanks to positive results.

Thousands of primary school pupils across Glasgow have benefited from a range of tailored educational programmes focused upon health and wellbeing and diversity and inclusion, delivered by their inspiring community coaches.

More over, the Rangers Charity Foundation launched an expanded Recovery Drop-In Service and their Get Ready for Sport programme alone was delivered in 98 primary schools across the Glasgow area.

84 adults lost a collective total of over 320kg and 544cm from their waists thanks to their Football Fans in Training initiative. The Foundation’s mental health and wellbeing programme provision grew with Team Talk Football added to their ongoing virtual Team Talk programme and Changing Room. Their full-time trauma counsellor continued to make a huge difference to their community programme participants in need of additional support.

The Foundation secured the long-term lease of the Ibrox Community Complex, and with the strong backing of the Club, are excited about all the opportunities which revitalising this facility will bring for the Foundation and the wider community.

They have continued to arrange for letters of support from first team players to be sent to those affected by illness, bereavement and provided special Dream Day experiences to those in real need of a boost.

The generosity of their supporters has been phenomenal this year! From their record-breaking 20th anniversary Charity Ball, to their Big Ibrox Sleep Outs, Blue All Over Fun Run and online auctions and raffles – The Rangers Charity Foundation could never achieve so much for others without this incredible support.

“I hope you will be able to take time to read our annual review and that you’ll feel both proud of, and inspired by, the remarkable work of the Rangers Charity Foundation. Of course, we couldn’t have done it without you, our supporters, partners, volunteers, friends, funders and programme participants.  I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who has helped us achieve so much over this milestone year!”

Connal Cochrane, Foundation Chief Executive
