Second Day of the 18th EFDN Conference Recap

What a Conference, during the last 2,5 days we were amazed by the audience that shared their thoughts and hopefully learned a lot. The last few days were very busy with presentations, panels, breakout sessions and even a gala.

We as EFDN are proud of what we were able to put down in beautiful Budapest. A conference linked to Human Rights & Sustainabilty. Two topics that both speak for themselves, but can also be seen as a whole. We had a lot of organisations talking about those topics and we want to thank all the speakers for their fantastic presentations. Without them it would never be possible to organize such an event.

Before we highlight some of the topics of the last day we would like to give out a special thanks to Ferencváros. We used their home the last days and felt extremely welcome and taken care of during the conference.

The last day we kicked off with a Panel about gender orientation and identity in football. A very important part in our current society.

“Sport should be a human right, and everyone, no matter what their gender or identity is should have the opportunity to enjoy the physical and mental benefits of sport.”

Judith Solanas Sanchez

A very impactful statement which was the perfect way to start with the second day of the conference.

After the panel the third round of breakout sessions kicked off. Lin Wilson from Upshot presented about how to leverage data to meet equality diversity and inclusion goals. Allan Christiansen from FCM Samfund presented on the idea of identification and utilization of potential and talent outside the field. The Special Olympics came with three speakers discussing a host of different topics. Inna NAME from Shaktar Social also hosted a breakout session which was rather impactful as she discussed the ongoing situation in the Ukraine and how football clubs should and can act during war situations.

As these breakout sessions finished it was time for lunch.

After lunch, the final presentations were given through 3 different breakout sessions presented by our hosts Ferencváros. The topics discussed were the Community Champions league, Raising role models and Fair play, and finally a presentation about Legends Forever.

This conference was full of great moments, it was an honour to welcome all of our attendees from all over Europe and hope to see all of you at our next conference in Sevilla on 20th-22nd of March 2023!
