Special Champions League Project Meeting in Valencia

Starting on the 5th of March, took place in Valencia the 5th Transnational Project Meeting for the Special Champions League project, started in 2022.

The three-days meeting started with an interactive study visit at the Levante Foundation ID School. During the visit, the staff from the foundation had the chance to explain how they normally work, the challenges they face and the milestones they have been achieving since the creation of the ID section. After all the explanations, the project partners also had the chance to join the training session with the Special Champions League players.

On the second day, the meeting was held at the Ciutat de Valencia, the stadium from Levante, where they shared some projects run by the foundation and invited the paralympian David Casinos, one of the foundation ambassadors and lead speaker at the Di_Capacidad project.

David shared his personal experience going blind at age 18 and having a successful sporting life, but most importantly, using his own experiences to share the real life of people with disabilities and making an impact on youth through the Di_Capacidad project, which Levante Foundation runs with thousands of children at schools in Valencia.

During the third day, Special Olympics Belgium shared the status of the last Special Champions League event of the year, to be held in October in Belgium. To conclude the three-days meeting, Levante Foundation organised a cultural activity linked to their most special days of the year: the Fallas.

The next project meeting will be in Breda, in May 2024, just before the next big event for EFDN: The Special Champions League match day in Breda on the 29th of May!
