The ADO Den Haag G-storks shined during a match

On Sunday, 14 May, the final round of the Special Eredivisie in season 2022-23 took place at De Vijverberg, the home ground of De Graafschap, in which the ADO Den Haag G-storks competed against the home team and NEC Nijmegen.

When the ADO Den HaaG-Storks woke up on Sunday morning, they immediately knew it would be an important day. Not only would there be a new round of play in the Special Eredivisie, but it was also Mother’s Day. So this already promised to be a day full of experiences! At 08.15 everyone was ready at the main entrance of the Bingoal Stadium to be picked up by ADO Den Haag’s player bus. With loud shouts, the player bus was welcomed by the G-Storks and after opening the doors, they all stormed inside enthusiastically.

During the bus trip, the G-Storks’ mothers in attendance were treated to beautiful pink ADO Den Haag scarves presented to them by their sons/daughters. On arrival, the ADO Den Haag supporters were warmly welcomed by De Graafschap’s reception committee. After the players had changed clothes, they could warm up on the beautiful pitch of De Vijverberg. This warm-up was conducted in an excellent manner by assistant coaches Dylan and Timo.

After the extensive warm-up, the players were allowed to kick off the tournament against the hosts. De Graafschap had a nice following present at this round of play and this made for a fantastic atmosphere. The G-Storks handled this pressure extremely well and created the best chances during the first half. After a hard-fought game, both teams eventually had to share the points.

For the second and final match of this round, ADO Den Haag’s players had to take on NEC Nijmegen. This proved to be a difficult game from the first whistle and during the first half, ‘De Gelderse Ronaldo’ was good for three goals. After a good team talk, ADO Den Haag began a ‘remontada’ in the second half. Despite a characterful second half, ADO Den Haag still had to concede with a 5-3 final score.

On the journey back to the Bingoal Stadium, the atmosphere was still fantastic, despite the difficult matches. All participants could look back with pride at this season’s excellent performance and added to this was a rucksack full of wonderful memories.
