The General Assembly before the 18th conference

On the 14th of November the board of EFDN held their last General Assembly of the year 2022. This time in beautiful Budapest at the same time when we are hosting our 18th conference. Where the board, consisting of: Hubert Rovers (CEO EFDN), Phil Duffy (ex-Everton), Bálint Máté (Ferencváros), Yolanda Antin (Barcelona), Ton Strooband (Feyenoord, Wim Baelaart (KAA Gent) and Peter Davidson (Montrose FC) were present.

This year EFDN welcomed 28 new members of which 17 new members since the conference in Liverpool. Besides the fact that EFDN is proud of all its new members, is it not the only thing we cared about. The conferences have become a lot more sustainable, with for example less handouts during the conferences. Besides that we had several great projects such as: the Walking Football tournament and the Welcome Through Football.

If sponsorship grows the extra money will be included in the More than Football Fund. An own fund to hand out awards to clubs in the Netherlands who are falling short in funding their own projects. Our goal is to expand this fund to other countries in the next years.

During the General Assembly, EFDN also provided their plans for the year 2023 with staff and youth exchanges, deadlines 3 times a year and a program for Dutch clubs only in May 2023. The general focus will be on maintaining the current network, welcoming new members and improving our networking opportunities.

From EFDN, we hope to welcome you all back to our next conference on 20 March in Seville.
