The LFP invites you to “GET INTO THE PLAY” Against Racism and Anti-Semitism

From EA SPORTS™ FIFA 23 to Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT pitches to LFP and club digital platforms, the 28th round of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT will showcase football engagement professionals to fight against racism and anti-Semitism alongside the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (Licra). For the second consecutive year, EA SPORTS, partner of the LFP, is committed alongside the LFP and the Licra in this awareness campaign aimed at the general public.

Enshrined in the LFP statutes, the fight against discrimination is one of the priorities of the CSR strategy of professional football. In 2020, following the resolution of the European Parliament and then of the National Assembly, the Board of Directors of the LFP approved the operational definition of anti-Semitism used by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, as a useful guidance tool for education and training and to support judicial and law enforcement authorities in their efforts to detect and prosecute antisemitic attacks more efficiently and effectively. In January 2023, the Board of Directors included in the Club License 2023-2024 the implementation of awareness workshops on the fight against discrimination for top management, professional players and supporters. These workshops will complement the system already in place for several seasons in the training centers thanks to the Open Football Club program led by the Fondaction du Football.

These measures and actions are supplemented by initiatives aimed at the general public. This is why the LFP has relied for several seasons on the week of education and action against racism and anti-Semitism, which will begin this year on March 20, to organize a vast awareness campaign. In this context, the 28th day of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT will aim to make the platform better-known www.licra.org/lfp, developed by the Licra and the LFP. This platform for reporting any act of discrimination in stadiums makes it possible to initiate proceedings and punish the perpetrators of proven facts.

Partner of the LFP, EA SPORTS confirms its commitment for the second consecutive year alongside the Licra in the fight against racism and anti-Semitism by joining this awareness campaign which will take place on FIFA 2023, on the grounds of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT, and on the digital platforms of the LFP and clubs.

This film features testimonials from supporters who have been victims or witnesses of racist, anti-Semitic or discriminatory acts in a stadium. Questioned on a set installed in the central circle of a field, each explains the reasons which bring him to the stadium, before evoking the violence of the remarks with which they have been confronted. To remedy this, dressed in a chasuble bearing the inscription “Report”, they invite spectators to “get involved” in the fight against racism and anti-Semitism and to report any act of discrimination thanks to the platform of the Lycra. Broadcast on the digital platforms of the clubs and the LFP, this film will be adapted for each club, using the common message “Report”.

To ensure a powerful relay of the campaign, the message will also be visible on the lawns of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT, since the players of the 40 clubs will wear these same jumpers flocked with the inscription “Report” and the logo of the Licra during warm-ups, before and during matches.

In an eco-responsible approach, these chasubles will then be recovered by the Licra to animate its awareness-raising operations, in particular during the fraternity tournaments organized by the Licra throughout the territory throughout the year.

For the second consecutive year, the campaign will also be deployed on the virtual pitches of the FIFA 23 video game thanks to the involvement of EA SPORTS. A collector’s jersey in the Licra colors and bearing the message “Report” will be available free of charge in the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode, as well as stadium decoration elements such as pitchside LED panels, tifos and flags.
