Chelsea Foundation releases Five Ways Forward

The environment can influence people’s behaviour, and motivations, and also influence our mood. Getting closer to nature and the natural surroundings supports us to be more mindful. When things are building up, try going for a walk, sitting amongst the grass, riding a bike or going on an adventure.

Influenced by the environment, Chelsea Foundation is releasing a guide, called Five Ways Forward which consists of 5 ways to wellbeing – Give, Get Active, Take Notice, Connect and Learn. During Mental Health Awareness Week, the English club foundation will highlight each day of the week in one of the five ways.

Big Hearts in partnership with Wellbeing Together South-West

During Mental Health Awareness Week, Big Hearts, the official charity of Heart of Midlothian FC, would like to raise awareness of its partnership with Wellbeing Together South-West. Wellbeing Together South-West is a community partnership which was formed to strengthen mental health services and well-being services for children, young people and their families.

Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government, the aim of the charity is to provide support at the earliest opportunity to prevent mental health challenges from developing for children and young people and reduce the need for them to require intensive mental health services.

EiTC’s mental health work

Blues manager Sean Dyche visited Everton in the Community’s purpose-built mental health hub, The People’s Place ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week. Dyche joined a group of participants from the charity’s Stand Together programme to find out more about the positive impact the programme has had on their lives along with a lively chat about all things Everton over a cup of tea.

Funded by the Premier League, Stand Together is for anyone aged 65+ who might be struggling with loneliness or social isolation. The programme is actively welcoming new participants to the programme with the two weekly sessions offering individuals the chance to improve their quality of life by making new friends and having fun. A range of activities including trips out, interactive activities and games, live entertainment, guest speakers, physical activity sessions and cooking and healthy eating classes are all on offer to members of the group.
