Werder Cooperates with FUSSBALL KANN MEHR for More Diversity in Football

SV Werder Bremen has taken another important step in addressing the issues of modern society and is embarking on a journey to tackle the challenges ahead together with strong partners.

SV Werder Bremen is now an official cooperation partner of the initiative FUSSBALL KANN MEHR gGmbH, which offers professional services around the topics of diversity, gender equality and sustainability in football.

“We believe in the initiative’s guiding principle ‘We can do more!’ and want to be involved as a cooperation partner in this new network to support the promotion of women and diversity at Werder Bremen and in football and to show that football fulfils its social responsibility and acts sustainably.”

Klaus Filbry, Chairman of the Board of Werder Bremen.

FUSSBALL KANN MEHR is about the promotion of women and diversity in clubs and associations, but also about career-accompanying qualification of women playing football. Among other things, scholarships are intended to help them shape a successful career in football after their active career.

Furthermore, the initiative is committed to cooperating with institutions that promote the future viability of football and its role in society. This includes, among others, the Common Goal movement, with which Werder cooperates in the form of club membership.

SV Werder Bremen was one of the first clubs to join this network, along with Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart. “We want to set important signals and impulses in these areas and will try to enliven the cooperation with very active networking. At the same time, there will be concrete offers for our staff. Because we are convinced: football can do more,” Klaus Filbry concluded.

SV Werder Bremen’s CSR work is implemented with the support of our CSR partners. For years, they have been supporting the projects and programmes of WERDER BEWEGT-LEBENSLANG and thus make a valuable contribution to the implementation of the social and societal commitment of the Green-Whites.
