Werder provides impetus at the first network meeting of Bundesliga Bewegt

WERDER PROVIDES IMPETUS AT THE FIRST NETWORK MEETING OF BUNDESLIGA BEWEGT.

The first meeting of the new Germany-wide network for the 36 professional clubs and 20 third division clubs took place on Thursday. SV Werder Bremen, together with the DFL Foundation and SC Freiburg, are co-initiators of the movement and provided the impetus for the digital event.

BUNDESLIGA BEWEGT aims to give children and young people throughout Germany the opportunity to access low-threshold physical activity programmes in daycare centres, schools and sports clubs from an early age and to socialise them for sport in the long term. With its SPIELRAUM concept, the Green-Whites are experts in this field and are members of the BUNDESLIGA BEWEGT steering committee.

Various SVW departments took part in the first network meeting: in addition to SPIELRAUM programme coordinator Ludwig Voss, Werder’s scouting department, the WERDER football school, women’s and girls’ football and the WERDER performance centre were all represented.

THIS IS WERDER’S SCOPE CONCEPT

With the holistic SPIELRAUM concept, the club bundles its expertise in the field of children’s sports with the central goal of getting children and young people excited about sports and exercise in the long term and supporting them in their personal development. Werder is active in a total of 20 GAME ROOMS in Bremen and Lower Saxony. A GAME ROOM always consists of at least one nursery, primary school, secondary school, sports club, social child and youth work organisation and municipal facility.

In the SPIELRÄUMs, weekly sports and exercise activities as well as regular events during childcare hours, leisure time and holidays are led by SV Werder Bremen trainers in cooperation with those responsible at the partner institutions. Further information on SPIELRAUM can be found here.
