7th Big Hearts Day Celebration!

Last Saturday, Big Hearts celebrated its 7th Big Hearts Day. For the special day, the spotlights were on their T.E.A.M (Together Equality Achieves More) programme which offers the opportunity for young people from minority backgrounds and low-income families to build new friendships, increase their physical activity and grow in confidence whilst becoming part of a diverse community.

Big Hearts Day was an extra special day for 4 of the charity’s T.E.A.M participants, who have been given the opportunity to be matchday mascots – each walking onto the pitch with their favourite player! As Heart of Midlothian FC welcomed Dundee United FC to Tynecastle Park to a 3-1 win over the away made the mascots even more happier.

Since Big Hearts was relaunched as a charity for families in 2015, the Club has been a strong supporter of Big Hearts work. Allowing Big Hearts to open their own community space in the Wheatfield stand – The Shed, in 2021, Big Hearts now support over 250 people every week from the Stadium.

To help their fundraising efforts on Big Hearts Day, this fantastic match-up’s shirts of memorabilia will be available on MatchWornShirt. A one-week auction, in which supporters can place bids online to own the unique Home kits.

Adding to the value of these shirts, each one will be individually signed by the respective players post-match, and be offered to supporters unwashed, with mud and sweat included! All funds raised via the MatchWornShirt auction, will enable Big Hearts to continue changing lives through football.
