Chelsea Foundation supports early-stage businesses

The Delta Air Lines Edge of the Box Club is supported and organised by the Chelsea Foundation and is an extension of the Foundation’s entrepreneur programme. This month’s event hosted a mixture of guest speakers.

Michael Cochrane of Focus Management Business Solutions delivered an inspiring talk on unlocking your true potential, Enrique Abularach of Create Dreams Agency spoke informatively about inbound marketing while Dean Williams at Exclusive Visions delivered an engaging talk on sales and lead generation. There were also 20 start-up businesses trading in the market place looking to test their products and service.

Sense of belonging and community

Chelsea FC Foundation enterprise and employability manager Carl Southwell said: ‘The Edge of the Box Club has proved over the last two years that it is so important to the early-stage businesses in London, particularly unemployed people looking to start their business. The sense of belonging and community we provide is as important as all the learning, guidance and mentoring that also happens at the club. Providing opportunities and access to learning and tools that help people start businesses is all part of the “Open Innovation” approach we offer in the Education department – this is giving everyone the opportunity rather than the chosen few.”

The next Delta Air Lines Edge of the Box Club will be an ‘alternative’ version where it will be on the road, hosted at the new Microsoft Reactor space in Shoreditch. More than 100 start-ups will be learning from Microsoft start-up incubator graduates how to use technology in their own business ideas.
