EFDN at International Football Business Institute

The EFDN were at the International Football Business Institute in Brussels (IFBI) in Brussels last week, providing guest lecturers over 2 days (on Wednesday and Thursday) as part of the IFBI’s CSR and Community Development week. The students from the International Postgraduate Course in Football Business received lectures from EFDN members Aberdeen Community Trust’s Steven Sweeney, Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s Meinolf Sprink, Chelsea FC Foundation’s Matt Mead and Montrose FC’s Peter Davidson (also a Board Member of EFDN), as well as  a presentation from EFDN CEO Hubert Rovers.  With clubs of varying size, the students were able to see how any club can make a massive difference in their local communities regardless of size and budget.  In the lectures, each of the member clubs presented their best practice programmes and their impact, while Hubert presented on the EFDN’s various new and ongoing programmes and a practical session was also held with a focused on the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks.

EFDN and IFBI embarked on this partnership last year with the aim of cooperating and sharing knowledge and practical experience to the benefit of both institutions.  As well as providing the guest lectures, the partnership allows EFDN to make use of the knowledge within IFBI and also offers an internship opportunity each year for one of the IFBI students.
