EitC Joins Forces With Everton Disability Supporters Association

Everton in the Community and the Everton Disabled Supporters Association (EDSA) are working hand-in-hand to support disabled people in our community and the wider fan base to promote the services and facilities available to them via the Club’s official charity and its official disabled supporters club.

Established in 1994, EDSA works alongside Everton Football Club to improve the facilities for disabled supporters at Goodison Park whilst Everton in the Community’s disability programme is currently celebrating its 20th year of supporting disabled people in sport and everyday life, providing football and physical activity opportunities for thousands of disabled adults and children each year.

EDSA and Everton in the Community are open and inclusive to all and represent differently disabled supporters and participants, irrespective of their disability. The two like-minded organisations will work together over the coming months on a calendar of collaborative events and activities to ensure that members and participants alike are able to access the services and programmes available to them through EitC and EDSA as well as delivering joint equality, diversity and inclusion awareness sessions and training.

EDSA Secretary Mark Dyer said: “EDSA are delighted to formalise this close working relationship with Everton in the Community which can only bring benefits to our members and offer them new and exciting programmes in which they can participate. This is a great opportunity to build on our progress during recent months and we look forward to working closely with the charity.”

Everton in the Community Disability Manager Steve Johnson added: “We are excited at the prospect of working more closely with EDSA to provide more inclusive opportunities for disabled participants of both organisations, sharing knowledge and expertise and working together can only enhance further opportunities for disabled people within the Everton family.”
