Flashback to Pride Month Celebrations!

LGBT+ pride month takes place in June and it is being celebrated around the world. Many organisations prepared different campaigns to support diversity and prevent any homophobic reactions towards the LGBT community.

LGTB+ pride is the promotion of the self-affirmation, equality, dignity, and increased visibility of lesbian gay, bisexual, and transgender people forming the LGBT social community.  Homosexuality in football is a taboo subject that cannot be discussed within the football environment. Expressing your homosexuality means that the football players will change their image and will not be accepted by the football fans. For this case, many football clubs and foundations launch projects related to equality and diversity within the football field.

The LGBTQ+ Professionals in Football Collective is a network group providing connections and guidance related to inclusion for all those working in the game. The network has been built by a working group of people from across the game who are in professional or semi-pro roles, such as players, coaches, match officials, executives, and ED&I experts. Taking a united approach across the game, the LGBT+ Professionals in Football Collective is helping to create an environment in which football is an industry of choice for, and is representative of, the LGBTQ+ community.

During Pride month, many football clubs post topics supporting the LGBT+ community as well as encouraging their football players to not feel ashamed of coming out as homosexual players. As an example, fans of the Norwegian football club Valerenga used pyrotechnics with rainbow colors in order to support diversity among the football players.

Foundation club 92 started the month with a post, supporting their partners in celebrating the progress till now.
