G-Footballers FC Emmen feel like a Real Pro with Contract Signing

Thursday 19 October will go in the books as a special day for the G-footballers of FC Emmen of the Special League team. In the presence of their parents and/or carers, they signed their official contract which commits them to the club for this season.

With tense faces, the players gathered in the press room of De Oude Meerdijk. One by one, they were called forward by trainers Jan Dijkgraaf and Gert Willems to take a seat between them. Each player received nice words from the trainers before signing their contracts. As with Fred Grim’s players, there was a photo opportunity that sealed ‘the deal’. After all players signed their contracts, they were asked some tough questions about FC Emmen to test their knowledge.

This did not end the obligations for their G-footballers. While players of the first selection are presented with a picture in their home jersey, the G-footballers also got to take a cool picture in their own home jersey. Lastly, the players were given a guided tour and of course a look in the dressing room! Gert Willems looks back on this afternoon with satisfaction:

“It is great to see how the players experience these kinds of activities and that makes for many happy faces. Together we are going for a season full of great memories.”

Gert Willems

Full of pride, the G-footballers returned home. In a few weeks, they will be back in action in the Special Eredivisie. The next round of play at FC Groningen is scheduled for 12 November.

Auction with MatchWornShirt

The worn match shirts from the away match against FC Groningen will be auctioned through MatchWornShirt. The proceeds of the auction will benefit G-football within FC Emmen.
