Heracles Foundation Starts the Heracles Ultimate Team project

The Heracles Foundation launched the Heracles Ultimate Team project on Monday 18 September. Heracles Ultimate Team is a 16-week project in which children will work on skills such as communicating, innovating, entrepreneurship and discovering talents through workshops and internship moments. These children will be present at Erve Asito every Monday afternoon during the project.

Heracles Ultimate Team

Heracles Ultimate Team is a project in collaboration with the Eredivisie, EFDN, MDT and other professional football clubs. Heracles Ultimate Team uses the appeal of professional football in the Netherlands and the social power of football to reach and engage young people in a unique football-based social service (MDT) programme.

The opportunity for the young people not only to be involved in the club and the neighbourhood but also to become a real ambassador for ‘their’ club has a status-enhancing effect, and this plays into the social circles in which the young people find themselves. Within Heracles Ultimate Team, participating youngsters not only get the chance to give something back to their own neighbourhood or district, but by taking part in workshops and organising community contributions they can also earn points for an internal and national competition.

Heracles Ultimate Team is aimed at young people aged between 12 and 25. In groups, they follow a 16-week programme at Heracles’ stadium, volunteering an average of five hours a week. Within these weeks, they work on skills such as communicating, innovating, entrepreneurship and discovering talents through workshops and internship moments. They put these skills into practice by organising community contributions, among other things.

Besides the social impact the young people make, their efforts are rewarded with a recognised MDT certificate, which looks great on their Resume. In addition, through the points system, they save for great products such as match tickets, vouchers and merchandise. They also ‘battle it out’ athletically through local and national competitions against other participating clubs.

Goals:

  • Discovering your own talents and interests
  • Making a social impact on your own environment
  • Getting to know new people
  • Gain knowledge behind existing courses or jobs
