New Speakers Announced for 20th Making Football Matter Conference in Athens!

In already less than one month we will kick off the 20th EFDN Conference (13-15 November) in Athens, Greece. The topic of this EFDN Conference will be “Making Football Matter”, which will take place at the OPAP Arena, the stadium of EFDN Member AEK AthensThe programme is already unveiled and we are happy to confirm the presence of the following speakers:

Manuel Meneses-Namihira, Senior Manager of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Community

Manuel Meneses-Namihira is Senior Manager of GRI’s Corporate & Stakeholder Engagement team, currently heading the GRI Community program. He has worked at GRI for almost five years, is an expert on corporate sustainability reporting and environmental and social governance (ESG), and his main responsibility is interacting with users of the GRI Standards, the world’s most widely used guidelines for annual ESG reports.

Jaap Jacobs, Managing Director of Fingerspitz

Jaap is proud owner of Fingerspitz, a digital marketing agency in the Netherlands. A blend of tech, sales, and leadership brought him to where he is today. Fingerspitz exists of 50 collegues and won several international marketing awards.

Kirsty Coutts, Events and Fundraising Manager of Big Hearts Community Trust

Kirsty is the Events & Fundraising Manager for Big Hearts, the charity of Heart of Midlothian FC. She has worked with the charity since 2019 and was a volunteer prior to this. Kirsty currently leads on all fan-led fundraising and their links with key corporate partners. This includes the likes of Big Hearts Day and the Big Hearts Gala. 

Allan Bang Christiansen, Project Chief at FCM Samfund

Mr. Christiansen is a former Sergeant in the army, as well as a business owner in potential development, performance coach for various professionals, and an author in Career potential.

FCM Samfund is one of the shortlisted clubs for the More than Football Award 2023 with their project Together on the Field (Sammen går vi på bannen).

Jan-Willem van der Roest, Assistant professor & Academic consultant at the University of Utrecht

Jan-Willem van der Roest works as an assistant professor and academic advisor at the Department of Administrative and Organizational Science (USBO) at Utrecht University. Jan-Willem has specialized in the social value of elite sports in general and professional football in particular. In recent years, Jan-Willem has carried out assignments for NOC*NSF, the Eredivisie and the Johan Cruyff Foundation.
