Olympique de Marseille takes action against violence against women

Olympique de Marseille continues its commitment to the fight against violence against women. The Foundation just announced the 2021 action plan which will include the following initiatives:

  • A partnership with the Association Résonantes, which will perform its show-debate in front of young people from the OM training center and lead workshops. An exhibition will also raise awareness of this theme among all young people.
  • OM will also support the App-Elles system which, in case of emergency or danger, allows us to quickly alert and contact family members, emergency services, associations and other local aid resources. This awareness will be shared with OM’s local partner clubs that are part of the OM Next Generation programme and that apply for the programme in the future.
  • Continued support for the artist Sara Sadik, who works on the theme of love relationships among young people from working-class neighborhoods. After being able to shoot her work “Carnalito Full Option” at the Orange Vélodrome stadium and present it during Manifesta 13, Sara Sadik will come to present her work to the young people of the training center and engage in a debate with them. A projection and a virtual debate on the club’s Twitch account is also planned.
  • Finally, OM wishes to support the film SLALOM, in an even broader framework of awareness raising on the issue of sexual violence in sport. OM will promote the film which was released on 16 December 2020 in cinemas, and will organise various screenings and debates, in particular around Charlène Favier, the Marseilles director of this film.
