Olympique Lyonnais Foundation Uses The Awabot Robot For Their Match Against Paris Saint-Germain
On the 3rd of September, Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain went head-to-head as part of the 4th day of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats. The match resulting in a 4-1 win for Paris Saint-Germain was observed by thousands at the stadium and by a very special guest, Kilian!
On the Sunday match, Killian was at the controls of Olympique Lyonnais’ telepresence Awabot robot. He was able to enjoy the pre-match as well as take a behind-the-scenes look at Olympique Lyonnais’ set-up, dressing rooms, gym and of course, he got to meet the players virtually!

The robot is equipped with software that allows real interaction with the robot becoming the mouth, eyes, and ears of the FAN of the Match from a distance. Through an app, the young fan is able to communicate with his /her favourite players and can go onto the pitch before the game next to one of the players of their favourite team. The robot can also join the players in the player’s tunnel.
