Real Betis is the second most sustainable club in Europe, according to Brand Finance

The international consulting company has placed Real Betis as the second most sustainable club in the continent and the first in Spain, according to their yearly report on most valuable and consistent brands withing the Football Sustainability Index.

Real Betis Brand is one of the main names in the yearly report Football Sustainability Index made by the prestigious company Brand Finance. The Green and White club is placed in second position in Europe and first in LaLiga in the ranking of football clubs most committed to sustainability.

Brand Finance, in this new report, analyse the top 50 sustainable clubs according to the perception of the fans, based on environmental, social, and management considerations. These are essential aspects for brands because of their considerable impact on all social groups that surround a football club. The points scored by Real Betis in these three aspects place the club in the second position of this ranking, only after Liverpool FC.

According to the results of this report, the Spanish club is in second position with a global score of 83/100. In management, Real Betis score 96/100 and 90/100 in the social area. One of the reasons of this success is the creation, in 2020, of Forever Green. The Club’s sustainability platform has already kickstarted more than 100 actions; reaching 75 countries; bringing together 60 organisations, companies, and clubs; and having presence in more 195 international media. Also, thanks to the work done, the Club managed to save 3,5 tons of CO2, the equivalent to 21,500 trees planted.

The Green and White club produces, every season, a Non-Financial Report that includes all the necessary information to understand the evolution of the environmental, social, and managing issues, which are key points in the 2022-26 strategic plan.

“Reaching the second place in Brand Finance sustainability ranking gives us strength to continue working like we have done so far with Forever Green. It feels us with pride to be in that position”

Real Betis CEO Ramón Alarcón, CEO of Real Betis

Last May, Real Betis Brand was highly rated in the yearly ranking by Brand Finance ‘Football 50 2022’. The club was the brand that grew the most in LaLiga and the 8th in the world, with a growth of 33% in the previous 12 months, reaching the 43rd position globally.
