Speaker update for the 16th EFDN Conference in Breda

The European Football for Development Network (EFDN) will host its 16th EFDN ‘Purpose and Sustainability’ Conference as a hybrid event from 8-10 November 2021 in the Rat Verlegh Stadium of NAC Breda, the Netherlands. So far, more than 150 representatives from 50 different football clubs, leagues, and national football associations of 17 European countries subscribed for the congress.

This conference is the perfect platform for organisations of all shapes and sizes to share ideas and develop new concepts. EFDN is excited to meet its members and partners again in person at the largest gathering of Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) experts in European professional football. Participants at the 16th EFDN Conference will discuss challenges occasioned by COVID-19 and share best practices on CSR strategies, fundraising, sustainability, women’s football, anti-discrimination, social inclusion, online safeguarding, physical activity and STEM education. It will be an excellent occasion for your organisation to join these experts and broaden your network on CSR in football.

Luc te Riele – N.E.C. Nijmegen

Luc te Riele, Manager N.E.C. in the Community will be presenting the Special Football Programme at the 16th EFDN Conference.

Luc is responsible for CSR within N.E.C. Nijmegen (among other things) and the connection between the professional football club and the Special Football Partnership

Luc will be presenting the topic of the gap between regular and disabled football, highlight the collaboration between N.E.C. and the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB), the development from a N.E.C. project to a self-steering partnership, and their Core Values in the daily practice.

Lin Wilson – Upshot

Lin Wilson, Consultant at Upshot, will be presenting the new EFDN Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Guide the 16th EFDN Conference. 

Lin Wilson has been part of the Upshot team for two and a half years, working directly with EFDN and member clubs for the past 18 months. With the team’s support, she has written the new MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) Practitioners Guide launched at this conference and she is pleased to have the opportunity to discuss this with partners and clubs. Before working for Upshot, she was a voluntary football coach in my community, worked in IT with Microsoft and HP and began her career working in the charity sector.

Lin will be presenting the guide and relate to EFDN themes of purpose and sustainability – what does it cover, who is it for, how can MEL help focus, learn and adapt. She will also do a group exercise/game leading to collection of input from participants.

Henri Bakhuis – N.E.C. Nijmegen

Henri Bakhuis, Football Coordinator and responsible for the Beuningse Boys at N.E.C. Nijmegen will be presenting the Special Football Programme at our 16th EFDN Conference in Breda on 9 & 10 November 2021. 

Henri is representing the Special Football Partnership and is a coordinator within one of the 9 participating football clubs / 15 football teams.

Henri will be presenting the topic of the gap between regular and disabled football, highlight the collaboration between N.E.C. and the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB), the development from a N.E.C. project to a self-steering partnership, and their Core Values in the daily practice.

Connal Cochrane – Rangers Charity Foundation

Connal Cochrane, Director at Rangers Charity Foundation, will be presenting their new 3 year strategy at our 16th EFDN Conference. 

Connal Cochrane has worked in a variety of roles within the public and charity sectors throughout his career and joined the Rangers Charity Foundation over 16 years ago, and at that time, as its only employee! He is still passionate about the Foundation’s ability to make a difference, and alongside their great team, aim to stay true to their core values and have a strategic approach to guide and reward them. He sits on the board of directors of another charity and takes on personal fundraising endurance challenges from time to time in support of the Foundation.

Connal Cochrane will present the new three year strategy for the Rangers Charity Foundation, highlighting the strategy development process and its ambitious plans across seven key pillars of activity for the coming three years. Connal’s presentation will also focus upon the income generating successes which will be supporting this new strategy and share his reflections on recent challenges, opportunities and learnings.
