The Shakhtar Midfielder Attends Training Session with the Children & Other ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ Activities

On 14 August, Shakhtar Social foundation and the A+ Academy in Kyiv hosted a regular training session of the ‘Come on, Let’s Play!’ project for children with disabilities. This time, however, the participants were in for a surprise – Shakhtar player Oleksiy Kashchuk attended the training session.

The footballer talked to the children and parents and took an active part in the training – together with the young athletes, he performed various ball and movement coordination exercises. At the end of the session, the player gave the children gifts and took memorable photos.

“I am very happy to visit the children! We had a short training session, we did some exercises, kicked a goal and generally had a great time. I got a lot of positive emotions and, hopefully, the young players did too. It’s a very good event, and the kids get the experience they need. I want them to have only the best memories of this day.

Other ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ Activities

Shakhtar Social Foundation’s ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ project and the new project partner YASNO prepared a creative gift for the children who play football at one of the training grounds in Lviv, Ukraine. On the 10th of August, it was decided to decorate the active venue in the style of street art and invited the project participants themselves to create a new visual.

The children participated in painting a mural next to the training field on the school grounds. Together with a professional artist, they completed the football image that will adorn the location. The thematic mural is made in the national Ukrainian colours, which, according to the artists, is intended to inspire children to new football achievements and victories.

The flagship project of the Shakhtar Social Foundation “Let’s Play!” operates in 33 settlements of Ukraine. More than 1,800 children participate in the programme.
