WORLD REFUGEE DAY 2021 – BEST RESOURCES

The world has witnessed an increase of refugees in the past few decades and with the onset of the 21st century, the plight of people seeking better lives outside of their native lands doesn’t seem to take a backseat anytime soon.

Hundreds of thousands of people and their families flee war, conflict, poverty, destruction and shaky economies in search of livable surroundings and football as a social tool provides an escape from the harsh realities of the world. Football possesses the ability to help people establish better lives through inclusion programmes.

As EFDN puts it, ‘the integration of refugees into Europe presents one of the greatest challenges in modern times and recent memory.’

World Refugee Day has been celebrated on 20th June each year, since the turn of the century in 2001, to promote awareness within the larger community and promote anti-discrimination. The build-up to this year’s World Refugee Day will witness EFDN collate the best resources from its invaluable directory.
