58,000 people worldwide benefit from Fundación Real Betis Balompié projects

The 2019/2020 season will always be remembered as the one that turned the Benito Villamarín Stadium into a logistics center for reception, preparation and distribution of sanitary equipment.

This special action plan to reduce COVID damage was one of the most important actions that the Fundación Real Betis Balompié developed in the last stage. The club’s employees participated voluntarily in this logistics centre along with their women’s team. In addition to this project, other projetcs related to food aid were developed, through which, volunteers of the entity made telephone follow-ups during the lockdown to their fans over the age of 65 and those with special needs.

Fundación Real Betis – with a budget of 800,551 euros – helped an estimated total of 57,916 people through their 21 projects, their involvement in 34 projects of other entities and support for 657 organisations, all of them framed in the five areas of action of the Foundation -Social, Sports, Environmental, Former Football Players and Cultural and Historical Heritage.

In mid-March 2020, the action plan against health and economic effects during and after the pandemic was added to these five areas.
