CAFE Week of Action 2022 to start tomorrow

During the 4th International CAFE Conference, Media and Communications Manager, Michael Rice, announced that the largest event of its kind will return in 2022 with hopes to make this season’s CAFE Week of Action the most widely celebrated to date.

CAFE invites you to join them in celebrating disabled people and the many diverse roles that they can play within the sports industry! If you are interested in joining the CAFE week, you can download the information pack here. The information pack contains background information about the CAFE Week of Action, as well as an extensive list of suggested activities that you could run to get involved.

To coincide with this season’s CAFE Week of Action, CAFE is delighted to announce the launch of FC #TotalAccess. FC #TotalAccess is a new concept designed to promote good practice examples amongst sports clubs and stadiums. You can submit your nominations for FC #TotalAccess here.

They will be accepting nominations in 12 categories, and a panel will select one winner in each:

  • Pre-match information and accessible ticketing
  • Accessible parking, pick-up and drop-off points
  • Accessible entrance, exit and security points
  • Accessible toilets
  • Accessible refreshments kiosks and concourses
  • Wheelchair user spaces and companion seating
  • Easy access seats and companion seating
  • Sensory viewing rooms and packs, or other services for non-visibly disabled people
  • ADC or other accessible matchday services
  • Trained stewards and volunteers
  • Hospitality, VIP or media area accessibility
  • The 12th player – the fans: those going the extra mile

FC #TotalAccess is all about showcasing the clubs, national associations, venues and people who really stand out as shining lights with their works and commitment to the topic. We know there are so many champions of access and inclusion working within the industry, and we want to show stakeholders across sport that they can achieve”

You are encouraged to submit as many nominations as you like, and share as many best practice examples as you can do. Winners will be interviewed and have their best practices showcased on the CAFE website and social media channels. A dedicated section of the website will be launched at the start of the CAFE Week of Action 2022, with winners’ best practices being highlighted for two years until the nominations process opens again.

More information on this can be found in the information pack, and you can email  michael@cafefootball.eu to discuss your requests further.
