On the 20th of March, the Diversity Wins programme was presented as one of the seminars by Audry Matadi, a Project Manager at EFDN, during the 19th EFDN #Morethanfootball Conference at Estadio Benito Villamarin in Seville, Spain.

The seminar in Seville was organised in order to to discuss the Diversity Wins programme, that will be integrated within the sports organizations and schools. EFDN members Real Betis Balompié, Club Brugge Foundation, Fundación Alcoraz, Vålerenga IF,Rangers Charity Foundation,Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and Excelsior Rotterdam are participating in the project.

Diversity Wins is an educational programme that promotes diversity, respect and tolerance on and off the pitch, co-funded by the European Union. The project aims at educating, engaging, and inspiring children and young people aged 10 – 16 years through an educational based programme on racial, LGBTQ+, religious, and gender-based discrimination.

Diversity Wins will help educate teachers, sports coaches, and organisational staff to deliver informative and impactful educational sessions to children, as well as learn how to discuss complex topics, use the appropriate language and terminology. The programme has the purpose of establishing an inclusive society for all, through the high-profile status of European football and professional football players. This way, the clubs will contribute to the establishment of a united European stance against discrimination and society.

The Diversity Wins programme will be presented in workshops, courses, activities, and expert-led presentations and the sessions will be delivered both in schools, and to grassroots and youth football clubs academies.
