EFDN signs Robert Maaskant as the new Programme and Partnership Manager

This week Robert Maaskant (51) started as the new Programme & Partnerships Manager at the European Football Development Network (EFDN). Maaskant will be involved in projects such as #Morethanfootball Networks and ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ and will bring clubs, civil society organisations and companies together to further strengthen the social power of football.

Maaskant: “In this position, I can commit myself full time to the ‘other side’ of football. The impact of football clubs on society is undeniable and it seems fantastic to me to be able to serve clubs, leagues and FAs in the field of social responsibility within this international network”.

Maaskant has been active in the international football world for years. His coaching career started at RBC Roosendaal and took him to various continents with coaching positions at Texas Dutch Lions and Columbus Crew (America), Dynamo Minsk (Belarus), Wisla Kraków (Poland) and in the Netherlands at Willem II, NAC Breda, FC Groningen, Go Ahead Eagles and VVV Venlo. Maaskant was also technical director at, among others, NAC Breda and Almere City FC and was involved as an analyst in the programmes of FOX Sports in the Netherlands.

Hubert Rovers: “Robert Maaskant has a large network at his disposal. We are very pleased that we can use his expertise and network to achieve our goals”.
