Football Association of Ireland and 23 clubs join EFDN

EFDN is proud to announce that the Football Association of Ireland and all 23 League of Ireland clubs are joining the network. The FAI and the clubs are currently attending the 15th EFDN ‘#Morethanfootball’ Conference Online.

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) is the governing body for Association Football in the Republic of Ireland. The FAI is also responsible for the running of the Football League of Ireland which comprises of 23 senior clubs (including clubs in the Women’s National League).

“More than a Club” is an initiative delivered by the League of Ireland department which looks to assist League of Ireland clubs to develop and deliver Football in the Community programmes.

EFDN CEO Hubert Rovers said: “At EFDN, we believe that every professional clubs, league and FA is more than football. We are very proud that the Football Association of Ireland and all 23 League of Ireland clubs are joining our European network simultaneously. Our aim is to support the FAI and all the Irish clubs with the further development of their CSR strategy and community outreach activities. We will support by sharing our experience and programmes, providing new funding opportunities for the clubs and connecting them to our more than 100 clubs, leagues and FAs from across Europe. The 15th EFDN Conference is a great way to kick-off this new partnership.”
