The LFP and its Partners in ‘Defence of Children’ Programme

This weekend, all the matches in the two professional French leagues will be dedicated to child protection. Kipsta, Decathlon’s football brand, is the official supplier of League 1 Uber Eats and League 2 BKT balls, and is unveiling balls designed for the event. This 3rd edition of the “Défenseurs de l’Enfance” programme will bring together the whole of professional football and numerous partners in a collective effort to protect children.

To mark International Children’s Rights Day on 20 November, League 1 club Uber Eats and League 2 club BKT are continuing their commitment alongside the CNAPE (Convention Nationale des Associations de Protection de l’Enfant) to raise awareness and remind people of children’s fundamental rights: the right to be cared for, to be protected from disease, to have an adequate and balanced diet, to go to school, to be protected from violence and all forms of discrimination, to play and have leisure activities, to have a family, to be surrounded and loved.

The entire French professional football ecosystem wants to send out a message loud and clear: children in difficulty are not alone. That’s why the LFP is continuing to organise a dedicated day for Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT in this regard, with the aim of materialising the commitment alongside them and supporting them in their various life paths.

This strong mobilisation also serves to highlight the 119 number (Allô enfance en danger, a confidential and free call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), which should be dialled in the event of danger to a child and which can quite simply save lives.

The total involvement of all the parties involved in this cause will be amplified by a major communication campaign, in digital format and on all Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT pitches, including a large number of the LFP’s partners.

Kipsta has always been inspired by the idea of designing products specifically for children playing football, and this year it has decided to become actively involved in the “Défenseurs de l’Enfance” operation, sponsored by journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi and with the support of Charlotte Caubel, Secretary of State for Children.

On the weekend of 25 November, the 13th day of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and the 15th day of Ligue 2 BKT will be played with Kipsta balls with specific and exclusive designs. Inspired by children’s drawings, they will accompany the 38 professional clubs, who will also modify their logos to support this cause together. Of the 700 or so collector’s balls allocated to these two championship days, 80 will be signed by the players in the matches and will then be auctioned on MatchWornShirt from Wednesday 29 November. The other unsigned balls will be sold in advance from Wednesday 22 November on the Decathlon.fr website at a price of 80 euros. All profits from these sales will be donated to CNAPE.

BKT, title sponsor of Ligue 2, Oris, official timekeeper & responsible partner of the LFP, and Capifrance, property partner of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT, will be offering tickets for several matches to children supported by CNAPE, enabling the children and their carers to enjoy an exceptional atmosphere and a unique experience. In all, more than 730 children will be invited to the various Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT matches.
