OHL Leuven in the Neighbourhood Starts at Second Location

OH Leuven’s community work has started at a second location with the ‘OHL in the neighbourhood’ initiative, in collaboration with the City of Leuven. From now on, children between the ages of 8 and 12 can attend weekly football training sessions in Leuven.

The project aims to encourage children and young people in and around Leuven to play football. After the start-up of the first location in Kessel-Lo for children from the Casablanca neighbourhood, children from the centre of Leuven can now take part in a fun football training every Thursday evening.

The focus is on having fun and learning something new. The most important thing is that the children are eager to come and play football again the following week. OHL in the neighbourhood’ is meant for children who have not yet joined a football club but would like to play football.

The training sessions take place under the guidance of young people from Leuven who show an interest in football. They get the chance to take on the role of a football coach. To provide these youngsters with full support, OH Leuven is organising a ‘Start to Coach’ training course together with Voetbal Vlaanderen. Every Friday evening these young people receive training as coaches, thus guaranteeing the quality of the training sessions.
