EFDN STEM Network Conference- Registration closes today

All EFDN members are invited to participate in the EFDN STEM Network Conference. Registration is still open until 26 January 12.00 noon (CET).

More than 20 clubs from all across Europe have signed up so far. Not only partners in our new EFDN STEM Football & Education programme are among them but also other clubs who are interested in STEM education, for example, Malmö FF, NAC Breda and SL Benfica.

STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics – is the field that helps children learn how to program, make codes, and understand technological devices. Statistics tell us there are currently more than a million job vacancies in the STEM industry, while at the same time only 16% of college students graduate in STEM fields or subjects. Demand for STEM jobs increased three times between 2000 and 2010, and continues to grow, with many new fields and professions emerging each day.

“Via STEM learning, children are taught how to be critical thinkers, to be creative, to ask questions based on experiences that solve problems, to show resilience, communicate and collaborate effectively, whilst working on complex tasks. All these skills are essential for today and tomorrow”, explained expert Matt Mead from our partner Sphero Sports the importance of STEM education.
