Galway Women FC
Galway Women’s Football Club is an Irish football club based in Galway. Since 2013–14 the club has played in the Women’s National League. The club is closely associated with both the Galway Ladies League and the Galway Football Association. The WNL team has its origins in the Galway Ladies League representative team that won the 2007 FAI Women’s Cup and then represented the Republic of Ireland in the 2008–09 UEFA Women’s Cup.
Local schools programme
The club currently operate a programme in local schools which encourages healthy lifestyles and physical activity with an emphasis on football. They are working with their main sponsor to improve awareness of environmental issues such as litter.
Galway WFC Against Racism & Discrimination
Galway WFC welcomes all supporters to its grounds and condemns any form of bigotry and discrimination in football. Galway WFC does not condone hostile abuse of individual players, spectators or officials based on ethnic or cultural background, nationality, or religious affiliation. Those found to be involved in any such behaviour may face ejection from the ground and will be reported to the Gardaí.
The aim of this policy is to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and with respect and that Galway WFC is equally accessible to all. Galway WFC is responsible for setting standards and values to apply throughout the club at every level. Football belongs to, and should be enjoyed by, anyone who wants to participate.
