Go Ahead Eagles
Dutch Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles, from the city of Deventer, has a rich history and the club is deeply rooted in society. Deventer and its surroundings are proud of Go Ahead Eagles and vice versa. The club, founded in 1902, aims to be a club that is accessible to the public.
Within the Go Ahead Eagles policy, the social theme plays a very important role in addition to the sporting, commercial, and financial economic aspects. Go Ahead Eagles wants to be the club of and for everyone, regardless of origin, background, ethnicity, and religion. A safe place where everyone feels valued and respected. They mainly focus on promoting physical and mental health next to inclusion which is also really an important goal for them. We try to reach every age group with our projects and activities.
Go Ahead Eagles reaches tens of thousands of people from the region of their hometown Deventer with its social projects and activities. Think of the Go Ahead Eagles All-Stars, consisting of football fans aged 55 and older. Or the hundreds of primary school pupils who participate in the Score a Book! project every school year, which focuses on promoting reading among children. They also participate with a team in the Bijzondere Eredivisie, promoting football for kids from 10 to 18 years with disabilities.
These are just a couple of examples of the many permanent projects that are organized annually by or in collaboration with Go Ahead Eagles.
But also with meet and greets, competition visits, video messages, and special giveaways, regional members are reached who can use a helping hand. In short: Go Ahead Eagles is more than just football.
