Football & Education

Our Football & Education programme guides talented young footballers on their journey as student athletes, as they prepare for post-secondary studies and a future in football or beyond. Aimed at students aged 16-18, the programme provides academic support for pupils working towards A-Levels and BTEC qualifications, whilst training like professional footballers every day.

The programme challenges athletes by competing in the FA Youth Cup, Conference Youth Alliance League, Southern Youth Floodlit League and the National U19 Youth Football Development League. The programme is crucial in helping pupils achieve their college scholarship, semi-professional and professional football aspirations. Last season 100% of participants achieved a positive exit route; moving on to university, work, or apprenticeships. Highlights included two participants receiving scholarships to American Universities, one signing to a professional academy as a scholar, and one signing a two-year professional contract.

Our Football & Education programme currently runs from three locations, with new venues anticipated in 2016:

  • Coulsdon College, Croydon
  • Harris Academy Beckenham
  • Sedgehill School, Lewisham
