Healthy soul, healthy body

The ‘Healthy soul, healthy body’ program targets the needs of the Orthodox community. Mifalot coaches young Orthodox adults in becoming local sports coordinators, who subsequently teach their community members the value of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The 2-year program provides beneficiaries a platform to play an influential role in their Orthodox home community. Most importantly, the program deploys basic principles from our standard educational model for changing the attitude towards physical exercises among members of the Orthodox community.

The direct beneficiaries of the ‘Healthy soul, healthy body’ program gain valuable professional experience and life skills. Mifalot trains and guides them in becoming sports coordinators and leaders at their local yeshivas, boarding schools, youth clubs, educational institutions, etc. Consequently, each individual Orthodox sports coordinator inspires around 200 indirect beneficiaries of this program through promoting and teaching essential life skills – such as balanced nutrition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

In a nutshell:

  • Leadership program facilitative to community/civil service, ages: 18-22 (for men & women).
  • The program is officially and nationally recognized as a meaningful civil/community service.

Main learning goals include:

  • Understand the value of being in touch with your body.
  • Develop social and leadership skills (such as role modeling).
  • Stimulate sense of leadership in the Orthodox community.
