NEC Legends
NEC Nijmegen started the NEC Legends walking football project in May 2016. The project is part of the EFDN European Legends programme and aims to promote a new sport based methodology to get people of 50 years and older physical active again. The Walking Football and Walking Sport methodology is the biggest innovative aspect of the European Legends project. Walking Football is a variation of football in which players may not run. It`s not allowed to make sliding’s, make physical contact and play the ball above waist. All this to prevent injuries.
