S.S. Orient – Leyton Orient Trust

Designed for Key Stage 2 transition phase, sessions take place at our fully equipped study support centre in the West Stand of the Football Club. Sessions are run after school to further learning and are combined with fun sporting activities across at the SCORE centre too.

Sessions, delivered by Leyton Orient Trust, last for two hours and give pupils the chance to improve their ICT skills as well as literacy and numeracy. There will also be opportunities for reading, catching up with homework and undertaking media projects to include making videos, websites, podcasts and music. This supplementary school programme has been commissioned by Waltham Forest since May 2013

Aims

  • Foster a positive, enriching atmosphere and learning environment to aid learning and independent study.
  • Use sport to improve pupils motivation for learning and promote positive messages regarding health and fitness.
  • Work with pupils to develop a positive attitude to school life and the concept of lifelong learning.
  • Develop self respect and respect for others as individuals.
